Founded in 1981, Technology Research Corporation (TRC) is a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: TRCI) based in Clearwater, Florida. TRC specializes in power distribution and power management solutions for military and commercial customers.
TRC has supported the military business since its inception. We specialize in supplying electronic control and measurement devices related to the distribution of electric power, for the military engine generator set controls market. TRC supports this industry on a direct basis and as a supply partner in support of Army and Navy requirements.
The Defense Logistics Agency established a program rating system for its suppliers in 1995 measuring product quality, packaging and on-time deliveries. Since its inception and for the thirteenth straight year, TRC has been honored as a Best Value Medalist for the highest rating Gold category, which signifies our commitment to military contract performance.
TRC acquired Patco Electronics, Inc., a Titusville, Florida based company ("Patco"). Patco designs and manufactures battery management tools for secondary or re-chargeable batteries in several battery chemistries, including lead acid and lithium ion. Patco's product solutions support customers in military, commercial and industrial sectors. The acquisition of Patco greatly enhances our ability to convert AC power into DC current that optimizes the life of the batteries being charged.
The commercial business focuses on products that protect people from electrocution, serious injury from shock as well as protecting people and property from fire and destruction caused by electrical problems. TRC's portable GFCI technology has wide acceptance in the industrial and construction industries. It is also found on many products sold by original equipment manufacturers (OEM). Our ground fault products also support international applications. Fire Shield is recognized by consumers and OEM manufacturers for its fire prevention features and is considered the world's smartest extension cord. TRC's surge protection solutions for the RV industry are available as standard equipment on many motorhomes and as an aftermarket product.
