Electrical Safety
Solutions
TRC places substantial emphasis on new product development. Our GFCI, ELCI and PRCD products are the result of working closely with our customer partners to understand specific application needs. We also participate on regulatory agency committees to ensure that TRC products meet and exceed electrical safety standards.
In connection with our efforts to develop new products, our GFCI ground fault sensing and leakage current detection products continue to be more widely accepted in the marketplace. Our portable electrical safety products have received UL approval. In addition, certain of our portable GFCI and ELCI products have successfully undergone similar testing procedures conducted by comparable governmental testing facilities in Europe, Canada and Japan.
Commercial Solutions
Our
core commercial products were developed out of the demand for the
following Underwriters Laboratories ("UL") classifications of
ground fault protective devices: Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters
("GFCI"); Equipment Leakage Current Interrupters ("ELCI"); Portable
Residual Current Devices ("PRCD"); and Leakage Current Detection
Interrupters ("LCDI"). These solutions provide portable
ground fault protection for people and equipment in the industrial
and construction marketplace. TRC's HD Pro product line
provides ground fault and equipment fault protection available in
120V/60A to 600V/100A. Single Phase and Three Phase.

Consumer Solutions
Based
on Consumer Product Safety Commission statistics 50% of all
electrical fires are caused by faulty flexible power cords -
extension cords, surge strips and appliance cords. TRC's
patented Fire Shield technology protects against fires caused by
damaged or overloaded cords. TRC models include extension
cords and surge protectors in a variety of configurations.
These units are used today in residential, college and university
and office environments to protect both people and equipment from
the hazards of electrical fires. The same technology is also
used by many room air conditioner manufacturers. These
products are available from retailers around the country under both
TRC, First Alert, and Fire Shield brand names.
